My g35 trunk won't open with either the keyfob or the interior switch. I checked the fuse box at the kick panel and the fuselink box next to the battery. All the fuses looked good. I can't locate exactly what fuse because there's no description on the fuse box layout. I temporarily tied a line from the manual trunk opener to inside the cabin. Does anyone know exactly what fuse to check? I can't think of anything else this could be other than the actuator itself. All the wiring is in tact and never tampered with.

Is the bypass switch in the glove box in the correct position? If it's on, turn it to off, and vice versa...I can't remember which way is which...

12 year old kids have a way of making you remember things previously read in the manual. My son was left alone in the car for a grand total of 10 minutes, and then the trunk wouldn't open! Luckily, I remembered reading about the switch in the glove box....whew!!

Hopefully, this is what's going on with yours.

hmm....

Maybe you can call the local dealer...and get a helpful person on the line (somebody who actually WORKS on the cars!!) I hate doing that too, when it's eventually going to have you bring it in, pay a stupid amount of $$, for the d-bag out front to bend you over the cashier's counter and take what they want...but might be the way you're gonna have to go.

That was the only thing I could think of...sorry, it never is the easy way out...is it?

Well I fixed the problem. From others, it appeared to be 1 of 3 things, either a fuse, the trunk actuator, or the wiring loom at the trunk hinge. It wasn't a fuse problem so I was going to check the power to the actuator. Out of curiosity I pulled the wiring loom out and was surprised to see a single green wire completely severed. This has never been tampered with by anyone, and the loom itself looked brand new. I was quite surprised. I clamped the severed wire with a connector and then flipped the switch....perfect!!! Works just fine. I'm still just baffled that opening and closing the trunk lid over time can severe a wire like this.
