I have not been on here in a long time and when I was last here I was building and working on my 240sx. That project was finished and sold. I am moving onto my new project on the car I had been looking for, for a long time. Also I am putting this here because I found no build thread in the forum.
The car, 2004 Infiniti G35 pearl white, black leather interior, 6 speed.
This car took me a long time to find because I could never find the color combination with a manual, for less than 12k.
This being a project car that I am going to tear apart, the car had to be cheap, I paid 3500 for the car. It has a little body damage, but all superficial. Some rust on the drivers quarter panel, but nothing difficult to fix. And I could not care less about the 217k miles on it, It is getting a swap.

As you can see, I did not take many pictures before I started tearing it apart.
Can anyone find the hint of the end game engine build in the first picture?
So I am doing and engine swap, but I am not revealing what engine yet because I am still piecing many items together for it. The engine hoist arrives on the 22nd so at that point the vq comes out, and I can pick up the new engine. As you can see, I have no way to offload the new engine, which is why I don;t have it haha.

Thankfully, older G's have a one color interior, for the most part. I would still like to slap the designer who though tan pillar covers and headliner was a good idea with black interior...
So, there is a huge gap behind the engine before the secondary firewall, There is an even larger gap with this secondary firewall removed. This means the engine can be pushed back 6 or more inches. Ryan Kado did this for his VK56DE swap and the results were very nice. I will be doing this as well, but I am not using a VK56DE.

Best part about this car is the frame rails are 95% perfect, no rust on them, little crushing in the rear. But the car is super clean. Here are some engine bay and underside photos.

Any takers on guessing the engine?
