My wife is in love with a co-workers 2004 coupe. It has 40,000 miles and is white with black interior. Immaculate and seems to be well taken care of. Anyway, just checking with 2004 owners or anyone with advice about any potential problems to look for with this model year? What is expected mileage for tires/brakes? Any specific tire you've had good luck with? Planning to get an additional set for winter driving also. Thank you.

Welcome to Nico!!!!Brakes - I think once you replace the OEM POS pads with some good ones, no problemo.Tires - I have the Yoko S-Drives and really like the grip wet/dry and the wear so far.Issues - Mine has 58K miles and had to have the driver's seat motor replaced and the AC compressor - under Nissan extended warranty. Probably can get an extended warranty thru Nissan. Love my 04 Coupe!!!

OEM brake pads wear out fast. I'm at 27XXX miles and need new ones.

You will need regular alignments. Every 6 months. They like to wear out the front tires if the alignment is out. I'd reccomend getting the lifetime warranty from your local tire shop of choice.

My clutch went out at 22XXX miles. But I am hard on a clutch. I do a lot of very spirited mountian driving.

Tires. I am using the Nitto NT555's. About 6000+ miles and no issues. Great dry traction, good wet, NO SNOW traction.

Some have had issues w/ the radio/ac controls.

Good luck. Get the car. Your wife will LOVE YOU for it.

The Bose headunit will break down on you. Also, the door lock motors and window motors will eventually stop working too. But those are just minor things... White coupe with black interior is pretty rare so I'd say the good outweigh the bad. If you want more reliability, I'd say go for the 05 and up models, but you'd have to worry about oil consumption issues.

No issues with my '03 (same as '04) after 3 months of owning it.

The OEM brake pads are horrible for brake dust (front wheels are black after a week of driving).

May want to upgrade things (like the better wheels, etc from other models).

Stereo/electronics I've heard can be an issue at some point, but nothing so far on mine.

For reference though I'm only at 25k miles.
