2004 Altima running in 3rd gear

2004 Altima 2.5, automatic

When I start the car, and go to take off it acts like it is in 3rd gear. Even if I manually shift down to 1st or 2nd, it runs in 3rd gear. Also, when it is running in only 3rd gear, I can shut the car off, restart it, and then it will run fine. However, sometimes I start the car and it runs fine.

I have no check lights on, and the computer shows no codes.

I took it to a transmission shop, and his computers told him that the idle was 0, but that it was going 59 mph, and in 3rd gear, while in Park in the shop. He replaced the speed sensor, but still have the same issue.

I don't know what the issue could be, so hopefully someone out there has heard of this problem.

Take it to a dealer. They're better equipped to diagnose a sensor issue with CONSULT-II.
