Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a 2004 Altima 2.5 4-cyl Automatic as a car to get me back and forth to work. Well anyway, the car has something up with the transmission/electronics and I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose the problem here. Here are the symptoms:

1. When the car is cold (1st start of the day typically), the car will not move while put into Drive. However, if you put it in D2, the car will immediately go into gear and about 500 feet up the road you can put the car into drive and continue on for the rest of your trip in Drive and the car will act 100% normal.

2. Recently I have noticed that the gear selector has been a little tighter than it should be (maybe related to problem #1?)

I do not have any check engine lights and once your going the transmission functions 100% as it should. I am stumped and I am not sure what the problem may be/how I should diagnose the issue.

Any input on the problem/how to solve it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
Chris
