X-terra leaking freon, but mechanic cannot find leak. Has tested it with two different leak detectors. Once it has had a shot of freon, blowing hot two days later. Compressor has been replaced. Any suggestions?

Use AC dye on the next recharge and you should see where it's leaking from. My money is on the high side AC hose.

If it's leaking thast fast it should be rather easy to spot with dye. I am not going to bet where it's leaking from. If the compressor didn't fix the problem then you should put your old one back on.

I had a rubber hose rubbing on the high side hard line and it actually rubbed a pin hole in the aluminum line on my 4 banger some time ago.

Thank you for all your help. My mechanic used the dye this time and found a bolt that would not tighten. Will have more info when I pick up my truck today.
