Hello everyone, my 2004 350Z 3.5L 360whp has a major ticking noise which sounds like is coming from the motor. This noise does not stop for any reason at all, it seems to tick with my acceleration when I'm driving. The only thing I can think of is when I purchased the car, synthetic oil wasn't put into it until I started driving it which was 7 months prior to purchase my son was driving it before.

Thank you guys for taking a look at my thread, feel free to help with answers :)

Synthetic oil or not shouldn't matter as long as it was changed on a regular basis.

What modifications have been made to the car to raise the power output to 360 whp?

How long has it been making this noise? Does the speed of the tick rise and fall with the speed of the engine? How many miles are on the car? Have you checked for any triggered codes? Does the car have any other issues currently?

Welcome to NICO! :badger

99% of people i see with this "problem" it is just the cam hitting the spring buckets and is entirely normal. the engine is a solid valve train with manual lash and ticking is normal in all engines like that.
