Out of curiosity, were these threads on your trans #1 or #2, or a totally different car than your current issue?

2.

And for your question today, do you know where they got their other transmissions - maybe a Q45?
From what I can see the middle model trans were similar, the beginning and the end different, like this:
2002 Q45
2003 Q45 and
M45 and
2004 Q45 and
M45
2005 Q45
2006 Q45
That's just going by part numbers. Going by shifting logic, the 03 M45 was programmed like the 02 Q45, so I would have said that leftover 02 Q45 transmissions (hence made upto 10/02) would be the ones that made it into the 03 M45 and you should avoid the 11/02+.
Do the transmissions look different from what you can see?

The best thing might be to gather the VINs from the other transmissions and call an Infiniti dealership to get build dates etc... and ask what would be compatible.
Yes both of those were my car, they were for the same vehicle. I had to replace that transmission with the current one I have now.
This transmission I have now they pulled out of a 2003 M45. I think the production date of that vehicle was 10/02.
The only thing that makes me think the 11/02 will work, is that when I search for used transmissions, most of the time they all say for 2003 & 2004...
As for the problems with this transmission, it will drive perfectly fine in gears 1-4, but as soon as it shifts into 5tg it will go into “neutral” and the rpms will spike, after that it will down shift to 4th and throw the code P1716 revolution turbine sensor. I have a scan tool hooked up to while driving and even when It throws it into a “limp mode” it still shifts 1-4 and just stops at 4th gear but no manual mode or 5th. I have cleaned all the connectors to the trans harness, check wires for breaks and even check the connectors at the TCM under the dash...
