Please help!
We've owned our Murano since its birth in 2003. It's a 2WD SL.

In early March the "Service Engine Soon" light turned on. The engine had to be cranked a few times before it would start.
The car stalled out on my wife/kids twice. The code read was P0340.

We had the camshaft position sensor corresponding with the code replaced.

Everything went back to normal.

Three weeks ago, the same problem came back.
After taking it to Auto Zone to check the code, mysteriously the light turned off and the Murano started right away.

Last week, the light turned back on, and it is still P0340.
We have again replaced the camshaft position sensor, but this time the problem did not fix.
The engine takes a few seconds to start, and the SES light is on still.

Has anyone had a similar problem before?
I am starting to think that somehow the fuel line is clogged since the starting is the only issue really, and I'm now on a brand new camshaft position sensor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

I am having the same issue, I just read another post on this forum, it is titled "03 Murano MIL - P0340 OBD-II code.
03-murano-mil-p0340-obd-ii-code-t481169.html

We haven't tried any of this yet. The issue just started last Thursday, after installing new tires and getting an alignment done. Everything with the car just started happening one right after another. Before tires and alignment, car was running fine.
While driving on the freeway about 60-65 the car shuttered (like when you change gears on a bicycle) it seems like it was going to turn off but it did not. The Service Engine, VDC off and Slip lights came on. Followed instructions to clear code from dash and hoped for the best... While backing into the driveway the car just turned off. My brother has a code reader, had him check it and it came up with P0340. Did some reading and here I am.
Good Luck! Hope the other link helps.

Thanks for the link. I had read that one last night.
We have already replaced the sensor twice, and the starting problem and SES lights still exist.

Tony,
Im just curious, does the tire pressure warning light come on but NOT make the alarm noise?

Back story...we had a minor tire blowout on the rear driver side. Took the car in and purchased 4 new tires. I drive it the next day and it pulled to the right a bit to much. My husband drove the car the next day and said that he agreed with me and since we have never had an alignment done we should. So we took it in for an alignment and they said it needed a rear alignment, so they did that. The next day my husband drove the car to work, about 30 miles one way. He said the tire pressure warning light came on but no alarm noise. He drove home and everything was fine until we backed into the driveway. It stalled on us, the care just turned itself off. Then the next day it started to lose power and made a cluck feeling like it was going to stall but didnt, then the Service Engine Light came on. Got the code reader and it came up with P0340. A couple of days later my dad changed the Camshafter Position Sensor. I drove to work and back without issue. Car sat for a couple of days and now the tire pressure light is back on.

So I was wondering if you or anyone out there on the forum have heard of all of my symptoms and know what the heck is going on with my car.

Thank you to whom ever could help with the mystery.

Ann,

I have yet to see the tire pressure light.

The Murano is taking longer and longer to start though. This is disturbing.

I'll keep my eye out for the light.

Thanks for the discussion,
Tony
