2003 Sentra 1.8 head gasket blown

Friend of mine has an 03 Sentra GXE 1.8, with 130,000Kms on it.It's in the shop with a bad head gasket. Anti freeze was low, hard starting, etc.Question is, is this a known problem for this engine?I've never seen a thread on this issue, so I'm thinking this may be a one off problem.Mine is an SE-R, so I wasn't much help to my friend.Thanks.

I haven't heard of any issues with the 1.8 engine. If it wasn't properly maintained, then I can see the outcome.

I've heard of headgaskets going somewhat young on them, but it's not common enough to be a trouble area.

Its not a real common problem, but its defiantly known to nissan.
