I recently purchased a new aftermarket(Alpine) head unit to install in my 2003 SE-R. I am not an amatuer, but not an expert in audio installation.I hooked everything up, it worked fine. I unhooked it for a few minutes, and then hooked it up again to show my wife...and nothing. There was no power whatsoever to the radio. I checked all fuses, and all were good!

I tried hooking the stock radio back up...still nothing! All other things work(turn signals, dome lamps, etc.) What the hell did I do wrong? I am baffled!

The fuse box cover does not even show a seperate fuse for the radio itself...there are aptions like cig lighter, electronic parts, brake lamps, trunk release, etc., but no radio fuse. Is it tied in somewhere? Is there another fuse elsewhere other than the box behind the coin holder?

Also, to make matters even worse, my freaking air bag warning light is now on! Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated! PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Something's not right, you must have switched a wire the second time around. Triple-check your wiring...

I never took the wiring harness off the radio...all I did was unplug it from the car's harness and attempt to plug it back in...I never uncrimped any of the wires.

This is why I am so confused...all the wiring is tight! Also, the stock radio/cd player that came with the car will not work either....when I turn on my headlights the lights come on to illuminate the buttons, but the units will not power on.

I wonder if there is a problem with the ground or possibly the antenna...I have heard of units not working correctly because of an antenna wire issue...it just makes no sense because it worked 5 minutes prior to all these issues.

Be happy that it's your radio and not your ECU... don't ask me how I know .

Make sure the antenna is plugged in and tight, I know my sony radio that I installed in my car would not come on unless the antenna was plugged in. You may have accidently yanked something while installing/uninstalling so follow your wires under the dash and make sure you didnt snag anything.

And of course check the fuses just to be sure.

chex ur fuses under the hood ,chex the stock amp fuse i had to un plug my stock amp so my alpine deck would work, but it sounds like a ground problem,ur ground is tec ur power if it isnt good or crossing a open wire it will short out or go 2 the shortest point.
