2003 SE-R AC Problem

At the beginning of each summer the AC will always go back to blowing un-cold air. I've recharged it a few times over the last 2 summers using "R-134a EZ chill Refrigerant plus oil" but I'm wondering if there is anyway to fix the problem permanently so I don't have to keep buying that damn $30 can. Any ideas?

Is the AC empty every time you go to recharge it?

If it is, there's a leak somewhere.
