I just got a new 2003 QX4, it's awesom. I could have bought almost any car I wanted. I've had only Fords and Chevys uptill now. But... There is a top speed limitor at 105 mph, which is rediculous. What can I do to correct this problem and what can I do to bolt on hp. I'd like to bolt on an additional 100 hp. So far I've just done exhaust which seems to help a little. Money is no object. Any thoughts would be great.

Rockstar:

Congratulations to your Purchase.

Be sure to post in our QX4 section also.Your have a pretty new vehicle, but JWT may offer a chip for you sooner or later.

If not soon enough you can always go with a standalone ECU.

As for extra power, since your vehicle has the VQ35DE, all mods that fit that car will also fit yours.

And a twin Turbo set-up for the VQ35DE is around the corner from a couple of tuners.Or if you can't wait and money truly is no object, you can always have a supercharger custom built.

Fred..:)

PS: I may move your post into our QX4 section.

The FX 45 is very nice but the QX4 has a lot going for it in many PPLs minds over the FX45.

For one it has the AWD sytem from the Skyline, with locking font center and rear differentials.

Also the VQ35 in the QX4 is very powerful w/ a good aftermarket support.

I always liked the QX4's and I am not even an SUV guy.

Fred, good point! It seems though the fx45 is aimed more at speed and handling according to all the good press it is currently receiving in the mags.- something the qx4 was never aimed at,but an excellent suv, designed back when they aimed at foul weather driving, not the new wave of high performance all activity vehicles! Porsche in the truck market, who would have thought this 15 years ago! Ferry must me rolling in his grave!

Don't forget about the AWD system the FX has with the 4 wheel traction control option as well.

On the other side, I always did like the Qx4's looks.
