2003 Q45 Remote/Key Programming

I recently purchased an 03 Q45 but the seller only had 1 key. I was quoted $500 for a new remote and key from my local dealership. Instead, I just purchased a used keyless remote on ebay for $50 and was able to successfully program the remote portion however the ignition switch does not recognize the key fob and does not allow the switch to turn. My guess is that the small chip inside the remote case needs to be replaced as well as a new key. Is there a way to purchase just a newly programmed chip and key cut without being robbed by the dealership?

You need to get the Dealer to program your key. You can program the alarm but you can't program the ignition part yourself. Grease your Service writer to pogram for free.
