2003 Q45 Cruise Control ICC Laser Sensor Repair?

My ICC Laser Sensor is broken. Cost of replacement is $2435.00 + labour here in Canada. With my Bonneville a replacement Window regulator used to cost nearly $500.00 but a shop in New York could repair a regulator for $65.00. I am just wondering if anyone knows whether their is someone out there that can repair cruise control lasers for a fraction of the cost?

From what I know about the 2002-2006 Q45's (Not a lot) you may have to bite the bullet on this one or keep it they way it is or even sell the car if its that bad, Because the system is to advance to even think of after market solutions or "easy fixes".

What exactly is wrong with it?

Some times the dealer may say some thing is bad when its not or they may say you have to replace this and that to fix the problem.

That being said, I hope the lasers become a common failure item here in the USA, as they create false alarms for every other driver using a radar/laser detector......most of the time when the laser alert goes off, it is due to a passing Infiniti equipped with laser cruise control, as opposed to a cop using laser for speed control!!!!! I am shocked Infiniti used the same wavelength laser as the law enforcement here in the USA-dumb!!!
