2003 pathfinder wheel indicator lights flashing. No 4wd

Hi guys. As said the front two lights and orange center light flash constantly while in 2wd. When switching to 4wd the lights lock solid but no 4wd. Interesting part. When I step on gas hard in 4wd the wheel indicator lights go out then the 4wd light comes on and it locks in. Any ideas ?

Start by changing the fluid in your transfer case.. I am willing to bet that it is grey or even black.... Put back new AT transmission oil in it and try again...

At fluid not gear oil?

exactly.. your atx14a transfer case has a cluth hub and drum. That is what enables the auto mode. It needs transmission oil in it...the older model of pathinder R50 (1996-2000) had the tx10A transfer case which ran with gear oil.
