Hey all,

I've been doing some research into starting my pathfinder without a key. Essentially I want to do it through an RFID reader, but am curious as to the best way to start the engine via a computer? I've never done any work like this, so I'm a bit green in the car electronics department and am also glad to receive recommendations on where to learn more on that.

I've been reading up and it sounds like some people have had success by connecting directly to the ECU and have even been able to access cruise control functions such as accelerate and setting RPM etc.

Is this possible in a 2003 pathfinder? If so, how would I even start? I have a ODB-II reader with bluetooth so I can connect to that system, but I don't think this will get past the Anti-Theft System.

I'm almost tempted to just take out the ignition and stash it somewhere with the key affixed to a servo, and just have the servo turn the key on successful identification. But I just don't feel right about leaving the key in the car permanently, seems like poor solution.

Anyways, would love your thoughts! Thanks guys

Most remote start systems use a key reader that learns/holds a key to start the vechicle remotely. Should be pretty easy to couple that to a ardruio
