~ ~ 2003 Nissan Frontier keeps blowing MAF sensors; Check Engine Light Keeps Coming ON (disconnected the black bat cable to reset ECU; light OFF, that stopped working too) ~ ~

So, now I'm back to ordering a new MAF to see if that, plus battery cable off for a few hours, to see if that will turn the light off.

Anyone been experiencing this problem ? .... and the solution, please.

Any ideas or suggestions?

THANKS

Well, yesterday, I disconnected the battery, replaced the MAF sensor with a new one and reconnected the battery about an hour later.

I cranked it up and the check-engine-light went out, just like a NEW truck.

But, it won't last long; I believe the O2 sensors are bad, because this fix is only temporary, as it has been in the past.

are you pulling the actual codes or just throwing parts at it?

another thing, the rubber hose that connects under the AIR filter assembly (maybe vacuum hose ~8mm diameter ? ); mine broke off - can still connect, but need to replace it.

Does anyone know where to purchase the correct replacement rubber hose ?

Also what is the exact detailed description of this rubber hose ? (ID, OD, etc)

THANKS

would someone post photos on how to release the O2 sensors connectors (O2 sensor-to-the-O2 wiring harness; KA24DE 2003 Nissan Frontier.

Better yet, a short video of each on youtube would be great; THANKS

All of these connections seem troubling to me.

Well, I changed out both O2 sensors, plus the MAF sensor; disconnected the neg cable on battery ~ 12 hours (CHECK ENG LIGHT OUT), and got 25.3 mpg; the best I ever obtained (cool weather and steady 65 mph.

I'm elated.

Still not sure the timing is set correctly - will get around to that soon.

Well, folks, I believe I found the problem.

This guy on Youtube explains how an exhaust leak can cause the P0420 code
