Hello ... I just joined the club. I have a 2003 Murano AWD that the wife and I absolutely love. Other thatn the typical oil and tire maintenance, we have not had anything major go wrong. Now we are faced with a bit of a $ problem. The pipe that goes from the resonator to the muffler behind the gas tank has fell off of the back of the resonator ... at the face. I noticed a deeper, louder than usual roar when accellerating after having the oil changed at the dealership. I got underneath and looked and saw where the pipe has dropped away from where it meets the resonator.
I have been priced at $816 to replace the pipe from the convertoer all the way thru the muffler. If the muffler is still good, depending where the break is, it may only be $450.
Is it possible the pipe can be simply welded back onto the resonator?
Thanks in advance.
