2003 Muraano, well maintained, 145k miles. Starts and idles and revs fine, no codes, no timing chain rattle. Boggs-Down severly under load, barely makes it up a hill. Symptom onset suddenly after I accelerated very hard. Suspected rear Cat clog, replaced, no joy. Suspected timing jump / chain tensioner failure, opened inspection cover and don't see a problem. I can't imagine timing chain jump without a tensioner failure. Grasping for straws... Need to keep this one going while our son is in college. Anyone have any ideas?

The rear cat failure clogged the front pipe behind it with debris.
The front pipe can be very difficult to clean out 100%, and often needs replacement.
Is the pipe what you replaced, or the cat?
You can unbolt the front pipe and drive it briefly to double check, but I've seen this movie.
Good luck.

I replaced the cat on the rear bank. I'll take the pipe loose behind it to see if that provides relief. I'll try anything at this point.

I can rev and hold the RPMs at 2-3k with no problem... only Boggs-Down under load. Nissan dealer says its a compression problem... I just can't see how all 6 cylinders would suddenly lose compression. Possibility?

If that helps, take the front pipe off completely and try to knock out and debris.
Did the rear cat come apart?
