M45Caliber here -- the drivability issue (see previous post -- Ghost of Lucas) reared it's ugly head three times this week. Finally today the "service engine soon" light came on, along with the ominous message on the nav screen that I had to page through. The good news (if you could call it that) is that there was a code in the computer. Scottsdale Infiniti says that the code indicates a crankshaft position sensor going south (looks kinda like an older Chrysler coil from the schematic the service manager showed me...).
Although the car is4 1/2 years old, it only has 33K miles on it -- shouldn't this be covered under either the drivetrain OR emissions part of the warranty?
They are quoting "around" $300 to fix it.
They want $1450 for a 24 month 24,000 mile Infiniti "Elite" used car warranty. Good or Bad? Seems expensive for 2 years of coverage. 5 years and 100K (meaning 5 years from today and 100K on top of my 33K would set me back almost $2,800 -- crazy prices.
any other thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?
I've read about the fuel gauge and instrument cluster failures; what other items will typically fail on this car in the next 2 years/20K miles?
any help appreciated ---
