Getting the codes posted will help. If he said the spark plug was breaking apart, then get it replaced before it causes any more damage.
A blinking light is never good news. Get the car scanned for free at Autozone then post all the codes so that we're not guessing, sending you to replace unnecessary stuff.

I take a different view. Everyone above is spot-on. Sounds like you are either not a fan of dealers, or just prefer to do things yourself or with your trusted mechanic and that's all well and good.
May I suggest that you take it to the Infinity dealer for an oil / filter change (they let you bring your own oil if you like). Trust me when I tell you that the service tech will go over the entire car and make a list of every thing that needs attention - that's what keeps the service department running. When the car leaves the service bay, your service rep will go over the entire list. You do NOT need to have the dealer work on it. You do not even have to complete the list all at once, but you will have a complete list made by a trained Infiniti service tech that you can tackle on your own, or with your mechanic. No need to pull codes and decipher them and your mechanic can guide you as to what needs done first, second, etc.
Your model is one of the absolutely most brilliant body styles ever. It needs your love ! (and your money too,. I'm afraid)
