2003 M45 Tachometer Not working

I took a 2003 M45 out for a test drive and the tach was not working. I'm interested in this particular M45, but not sure if this problem is something easy or should I work away?

Could be an expensive replacement! I believe you would need to swap out the entire electronics since the tach is not independent, as far as I know.

Infiniti did this as a recall for a gas gauge problem at one time, but yours would not qualify, I'd think.

If you are still interested in getting the car, you could perhaps get one of those OBD-readers that has a rpm display (like an Ultragauge).

FWIW, I'd recommend looking elsewhere personally.
