Hello,I need some help in my next car purchase.I have been looking at an 2003 M45 at an Infiniti dealer's used lot, but the prices seem too low to me.I checked on Autotrader.ca, and this confirmed my suspicions. These 2003s are going for $15-17k!Some of them are barely over 20,000 miles. Is there anything I should know about this particular model year? The car is awesome, there is really nothing like it on the market in terms of looks and features.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just bought my 03 M45 for 19K and it has 36K on it. 15-17 is waaaay low from what I have seen. Most are going for 22-25K in my area with room to haggle.

I have absolutely no regrets in getting my M45 last February. I got mine for $24K with 32K miles on it. I have seen them sell for as little as $17K but with higher miles usually 45K miles or more. Some hints in looking for a good car include getting the history of the car from an Infiniti dealer, see whats been replaced, make sure there is records of oil changes and maintenance. If all looks good then grab it, you wont regret I dont think

i bought mine from NCautoauction.com

mine was a 36k mileage 03 for $18.8k

they have a similar one 41k for $18.4k still avaible

they also have a salvage one for $15k

come to think of it...it sound like the car u are looking at is probably a salvage title with a rebuilt engine? U should definitely ask the dealer what kind of titel it is. Or just check carfax

Welcome to NICO!

The price of this sleeper car is pretty darn awesome. I would strongly encourage you to check out the oil change history, etc. Well worth the money for the combination of luxury and power it has.

Look at his location..CANADA.Although the price is cheaper what about the exchange rate?

I don't know what the exchange rate is but it maybe $1 us for .80 cents Canadian???

Then the 20% lesser price is in line with similar vehicle here in the USA.

I just bought my 2003 M45 with 39K miles for $23K..all options and a new dealer installed motor at 36K...I felt I got a smoking deal...still under warranty.

Actually, the exchange rate (as of 4/16/2007) is $1 US = $1.1319 Canadian.

So, a Canadian price of $16k is about $14k US ... way low by any standards!

Wow!This is a great forum. Excellent responses, thanks.the exchange rate today is 1US$ for $1.14Can.I did a quick poll on auto trader and got the following info. All prices are converted to $US:

2003 M45 Sport, 44K, $21,9002003 M45 48K, $21,9002003 M45 ??K, $19,9002003 M45 120K, $17,400 2 others at this price.

The one I was looking at was 22K, $19,900. It was a service loaner from a local Infinity dealer. Loaded, Nav etc.

There were 2 examples a few weeks ago in and around the $15-16,000 mark. The ones that are left are slightly higher in price, but the value of this car in the used market is incredible. It reminds me of the BMW 750 in the 90's which sold used (5yrs) for about 20% of it's original price.Does anyone want to assume my lease on an '05 Audi A4 1.8T Avant? I want to grab this Infiniti asap!!

Wow,In this week alone, Cakedaddy and Boz4 have pointed out some amazing deals. Having purchased an 04' in February for almost twice what it seems you can get an 03' in Canada, I kinda wanna cry. Living in Florida, I am blessed with a killler preowned market. In fact, I almost purchased a Graphite Premium/Technology 03' in W. Palm Beach for around 23,000. However, on a lark, I called the Infiniti dealer in Tennessee where I grew up. I call and they say they have an 04 C.P.O in Desert Platinum. They wanted 30,000 with the Elite Warranty( Transferrable to anyone) thrown in to boot. There is also comfort in knowing it wasn't someone's former lease. (Do you care about a car that you don't own?) We agreed to 28,000. I knew I could have paid a lot less but figured I kinda zeroed out considering it has a $0 deductable for all repairs past the original warranty and also covers the NAV/Audio as well. I think the car is awesome for the money. Be wary without some sort of warranty safety net. Good luck in your search and I hope the winter thaws soon Boz4.Cheers,mark

Mark,Don't forget our cars have to live through the winter here, with all of the corrosive salt we put on the road. that doesn't do much good for resale value. You said you bought an '04 with a warantee, that sounds worth the money. The '03s here are no longer under warantee. I think the peace of mind you got with the $0 deductable is well worth it, especially in a car with all of that techno wizardry.I can't even find an '04 on the market here, otherwise I am sure the price would be much higher.
