HI all! new to the site!
i own a 2003 Infiniti M45.

was wondering if anyone has any information on a Hub or Short Hub options for this car… I've seen a picture of a White M45 same year. with a Nardi with maybe WorksBell Boss hub?.. but no part number.

i Have called WorksBell directly and they said a "629" or " 629-S " (Short) Should Work…if… car is NOT equipped with VDC (VehicalDriveControl)… will this just turn VDC off Perminatly? because that is the first thing i turn off when entering the car anyways, one less button to push.

just need to know if the VDC or Cruise Control has any affect on how large the steering column diameter will be… if it does NOT. I'm guessing i can go with the "629" or "629-S" no problem???

Anyone With any information would be a great help guys

Welcome.

What kind of hub are you talking about? Wheel hub or street wheel hub? The brands you listed don't ring bells to me, which is why I ask.

My bad. "Works Bell " is the brand. And I'm looking for a steering wheel hub. They're Japanese. And the originator of the ball locking quick realease system?

Just wanted to see if anyone has any info on a aftermarket steering wheel hub for my model M. Trying to have a quick release set up for my nardi.

Thanks
-Bobby

Ahh okay, that's what I figured. Unfortunately, I don't recall anyone posting about anything related to steering wheel hubs on here as most of our users don't mod their cars to that extent.

Hopefully one of the Y34 members will chime in incase they know something I don't.

No pro on aftermarket hubs here, but the things that might be affected when you mess with the steering wheel(steering angle sensor on the back of the wheel) are vdc/tcs and abs. You might get the abs lamp, vdc off lamp and slip lamp.
however, a dealer should be able to reset that sensor. What exactly is this hub meant to do for your steering wheel? Aftermarket wheel?

thank you for the technical info! i have slightly read that the VDC would be affected, but i did not understand how.

not worried if i need to reset any lights... just want the Vehicle to function properly. main reason why i drive with the VDC turned off currently. (When the computer takes over it drives me insane!!!)

Personally don't care if i lose CruiseControl/Extra Volume Control. as long as the car won't drive in limp mode with that VDC sensor out…?? is the sensor in the steering wheel? or the steering column?

the Hub bolts Straight to the steering column. using the same way you would bolt the OEM Steeringwheel too. but once the hub is attached you can then add Quick release system/AfterMarket Steeringwheel of your choice.

1. just need to find out if the steering column & hub will be the same diameter and will line up correctly/ tighten down.
2. also need to make sure the VDC is not affected after OEM steeringwheel is disconnected.

In that case, the car will not drive in limp mode. You'll just lose the "luxury" features of the car like the 3 that I mentioned that usually prevent you from wrapping your baby around a tree...
1. I suppose that requires measuring the steering column. If you can, post a pic of this hub or what measurements you're looking for and I could try to measure my spare steering column.
2. Does the aftermarket hub allow you to mount your oem wheel and related hardware? If no, then you'll lose VDC, but that won't affect your driving in the traditional sense of the word. Oh, you'll also get the SRS light when the steering wheel airbag is removed

yea i understand. just hate when the computer takes over. I'm not a terrible driver so i like having full control.

So i don't currently have measurements for the Hub. but based off the Information you have told me i will probably place a order on the Hub and HOPE! everything works… i just wanted to make sure electronically it would be fine.
It comes with a SRS Light delete.

Not sure on the "ClockSpring" tho.

But this is the Hub i am considering it comes as a "Short Hub".

thankyou!
