The driver's seat has broke loose on the left side. Tilts up on turns.

Anyone have a similar problem or know what it may cost to fix this problem. I am out of warranty.

Thank you.

Sounds like some tough luck there, sorry to hear about that.

Unfortunately the only repair I know of is replacing the seat track assembly. This is usually about a $1200-$1500 repair, either performed by an upholstery facility or dealer.

There are many moving parts that complicate the design of the seat frame and although they are not impossible to replace as a DIY but I wouldn't chance doing it your self if you have never done something like this.

While this was in warranty, I had a squeak in the drivers seat. They tried to fix it 5 times at the dealer including taking it apart twice. They never fixed the problem, and I lived with it. However, I believe my current problems are related to them taking apart and "rebuilding" the driver's seat to try to fix the problem. This all took place about 1 year ago and the warranty is now up. Any chance of getting this covered under the warranty considering all the warranty work they did on the very seat that is now falling apart? Thank you.

That is really up to the dealer. I don't know the specifics of your service history and anything told here is only speculation. Your best bet may be to call the service director and speak with them regarding your issue. Don't go at them try asking if there is anything they can do for you. Technically they do not have to since you actually decided to live with it until your out or warranty.I'm not trying to bring you down just get you prepared for what could be an uphill battle.

Good Luck keep us posted.

Do you exceed the design size and weight for the seat? Japanese use 155 pounds and 5'8" as the typical driver.

Buyers who exceed the average are on their own after warranty.Ford uses a heavy 175 pound dummy for their designs.

You've got to be kidding.... and Dealers will deny warranty repairs if you exceed that? I'm 6'5" and 265lbs.... I guess I'd better give up now How many of us on this forum do you think exceed those stats???

It actually describes me dead-on. I am a "round-eye" though!!!

No seat issues here.
