My issue is random stalling. It is a 2003 M45 with 130k on the odo. I have had it for 5 years now and really enjoy the car.

While driving (at varying MPH) my 2003 M45 stalls.... just random out of the blue stalls. I have been able to make it to the side of the road so far but it is happening with more frequency and is frankly starting to scare me....

after stopping it is very hard to start as though not getting fuel. After 5-7 attempts it will start to sputter like it is starting to get fuel, and on 8th or 9th attemp fires right up and is fine!!!!

It has happened 4 times in last 3 months, 2 of them in the last 4 days, the previous about a month apart.

ANYONE help. I love her but between the paint pealing, dash and seat squeak, fuel gauge and now the stalling.... she is really wearing my out.

I had the same problem about a year ago. Check to see if your check engine light is on. If its on, have it scanned at your local auto parts store. For me it turn out to be the camshaft sensor bank 1. I replaced it and now it runs fine. My car showed the same symptoms as yours; it was hard to get it started and it would stall every now and then.

Thanks. That's a great place to start. No check engine light but I will scan it. I seem to recall seeing a recall notice somewhere about the cam sensor.

Hopefully that will also explain my sudden and random sluggishness and loss of power.

Think I jinxed myself. On the way to work this morning while at a light it lurched and check engine light came on. made it through light and into gas station before it stalled.... then no power. Ugh. Sounds like it off to auto zone to scan in the morning.

Codes read. Cam position sensors and ignition control module.

Changed cam sensors.

All searches for ignition control module pull up the coil packs. Is this correct?

Have you looked into the notice below yet?

Recall Alert: 2003-2004 Infiniti M45

01 2003 M45
Nissan is recalling 8,120 model-year 2003 and 2004 versions of the Infiniti M45 sedan due to a fuel gauge glitch, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In the affected vehicles, which were manufactured from March 7, 2002, through June 3, 2004, a circuit board failure could cause the fuel gauge to read that it’s full, even if the tank is empty. This could cause the car to unexpectedly run out of fuel.

According to NHTSA, 43 owners complained of inaccurate fuel levels. This includes 26 reports of engine stalling when the car ran out of gas, despite the gauge showing a full reading.

Nissan will notify owners starting in mid-April, and dealers will modify the circuit board free of charge. Owners can call Nissan at 800-647-7261 or NHTSA's vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 for more info.
