2003 M45 popping sound in front end

In 2007, I bought my 2003 M45. I put 22 inch wheels on my M a few months later. I am not sure if my car has always made this noise, or if the rims did anything to my front end, but when I back out of my driveway, or out of a parking lot, turn to the left or right, I hear a vague popping sound. I can feel the pop, but it isnt very loud. It does not do it every time I turn my wheel, but it does it a lot. I have had my front end checked several times and was told it was my inner tire rods. I replaced them and still popping. I had it checked again and was told it was my passenger outer tire rod. I am not buying it because I can tell the noise is coming from the driver and passenger side. Any ideas?
