2003 M45 Nav/Climate/Sound system issue

The display and controls for the audio system, climate control, and navigation is consistently going out in my '03 M45. When it happens, the display screen goes dark, the audio system goes off, and I cannot make any changes to the climate controls, including the rear defroster. The heater/AC will continue to operate as it had been previously set. The issue seems to be related to the ambient temperature and humidity. If it is hot and dry outside, the system works normally. But if it is cool or moist, it will not work at all.

Anyone have any ideas how I might be able to solve this?

This trouble with intermittent functionality has been posted before. but on a later year M. if I remember, the culprit was a loose connection behind it. Being an Infiniti, it will be a royal pain to access, but it could be worth trying. There is an FSM (factory service manual) link in the FAQ post that you can look at to walk your through the removal of that panel.
