Hey anyone know where I can get an intake for an 03 m45 and also other performance parts?

I know injen makes intake for 2006 M45 but would it fit on an 03?

Thanks

Unfortunately, the 2003 and 2004 model years of the M45 do not have many add-on performance parts available. Far too few of these model years were sold to make it worthwhile for third-party suppliers to do the research and manufacturing - not enough of an ROI.

Without knowing the details admittedly, I would be very surprised if a third-party intake for the 2006 would fit the 2003 without significant rework.

If you are successful at doing this, that would be a very interesting thing to report on here, please. Most important, my guess is that the potential gain is relatively low (i.e., imperceptible) most of the time and not worth the effort.

Sorry to be negative ... I have the same "issue" with my 2003 M45 ... :(

Thanks man,
I guess the only way is to just put a cone filter instead of the box filter.

Well, if you mean the K&N oiled filter, then I would recommend you please do a search at NICO for posts on our experience with that filter on Nissan / Infiniti engines. :)

Yes, some people have been fine with them, but many have found that the micro-droplets of oil that get injected into the air-stream from these oiled filters (no matter how "dry" you make it), have a long-term detrimental effect on the hot-wire MAF sensors on these engines. This can lead to engine drivability problems that are only cured with a replacement of the MAF - simple cleaning of the MAF does not usually fix the issues.

Again, the minor gain is not worth the problems it can cause.

About the only thing you could do for better performance - and quite dramatic too! - would be to look for the rare Supercharger (or was it Turbocharger?) made by Keuylian Motors for the 2002 Q45 - this should also fit our 2003 M45, but might need some work to do so.

If you find one of these, the horsepower and torque gains would be totally awesome!

I have JWT proto type pop charger. u can ask them about it. JWT is well known NISSAN/INFINITI tuner in the state. I had it for a year and no problem at all.

u call them up and asked for info about they did a 03 M45 about year ago and they should have a bracket and stuffs for it. they took pic of it when they install mine. They are just like cone filter with adaptors and bracket replaced the stock air filter. thanks

My tuner looked at the stock airbox on the Y34 and said "leave it alone" It's big, it's smooth, and it flows as good as anything you could find aftermarket. One of those rare instances where the factory boys really did their homework. Seven years ago for this car, and a 4.5 liter V8 normally aspirated, pumping out 340HP -- awesome numbers. Even by todays standards those are great numbers. Boost (via super or turbo charger) is your only real alternative. Or just buy the M56.

No. Not interchangeable with the Y34. At least generally no.

(Concerning the Z & 240, there might be a vacuum hose, bolt here and there that's the same. Yes, the general design principle of the rear spring setup but they are different springs/cups/etc).

The Y34 would share more in common with the Q45 of the same year (03-04) than anything else.

Read through this page for more explanation on the Y34 heritage:
