With almost any part, if the aftermarket doesn't pick it up and downcost it, the price goes up as the remaining supply goes down. That's just the way of the world.
With the old Jedeco motors it's usually the brushes which wear out and not the armatures, and it's usually possible to rebrush them if you're handy and can solder. If that's you then you might want to open up the dead motor and see if Eurton Electric has a brush set to fit it.
