2003 M45 CD changer issue

Ever since I bought this car used a year ago, I've had an issue with the CD Changer not playing the CD from it's previous spot after the car is turned back on. Sometimes it will play, and sometimes it will play for a minute or two...hear static, then jumps to the next CD and plays OK. But usually the display shows the correct position (track & time elapsed) for a few seconds, then jumps to the next CD. I've tried purchased CDs, cheap CD-Rs and audio CD-Rs... all with the same results. I've tried a lens cleaner too.

Both the head and the changer have been replaced by the dealer. It is still happening.

Hello,Given your descriptions and the actions taken, I could only throw out that maybe it is the display unit itself. That is the Vehicle Information Display or whatever the Nissan/Infiniti nomenclature is. I think it would be the "brain" sending information to the CD changer downstream. Correct or in your case, incorrect.Just a Guess,ML
