Hey,Has anyone here ever put a single din navigation/dvd system into their m45 replacing the tape deck? If yes, does anyone have pics?

An interesting idea! Is this on the 2006+ M45? I didn't think there was enough room on the 2003-4 M45 models in the tape deck region for a DIN width product of any kind. But, I have to admit that I have never looked seriously at that, so I do not really know if this is an issue.

Hope someone responds ... or ... you could be the first to break new ground!

We're looking into that now. Have to find another audio sponsor first...

I was going to do this, but there isn't a head unit that would fit properly into that cassette area without completely modifying/cutting the dash. Since that area is seamless around it would take a complete custom job. I had a few estimates between $4K - $7K for navigation install. That did not include any new speakers or amp...just the head/navi unit installed! (if you wanted a good quality job done)

So I went the cheaper route and bought a Garmin NUVI 660 and a KUDA mount and hardwired it. You can see the pics of this in the PDA mount thread that I posted in.

Between the navi and mount it cost me a total of about $1K and I hardwired it myself.

Now if I could only find a way to hardwire my IPOD so it would play through the factory head unit.
