Michelin LTX M/S's are pretty much the best all around tire that money can buy for a SUV or truck. If you are referring "nasty" to being snow, these are the best non dedicated snow tires that you can have as well. I have these on my QX4 and I fly through bad snow all the time here in Denver. I always go out and drift around everywhere in the snow with all my friends every winter. I can accelerate, turn, and brake just as well, if not better than all their STi's and S4's that have Hankook "Icebears". The LTX's are good for 80K miles and have (siping) all the way through the wear bars. I've offroaded quite a few times with these tires as well and they do excellent. The only limiting factor I would run into would be ground clearance or suspension, but not traction. In my opinion I would buy a new set of LTX's.

LTX's are great tires, i believe i got about ~100k miles on my last set (rotated them every oil change). Right now i have bridgestone dueler revo's and i love them too... I believe the revos are a lot less $ then the LTX's and they have a more aggressive tread pattern.

If money is no object those are nice tires. I personally couldnt justify spending that much money for tires in that size. I would probably go with the Yokohama Geolanders for $118. Not a fan of Continental or Kumho. Had a set of Goodyear Integritys and they were awesome if you like to slide in rain.....

on a side note, its nice to see when people research tires before buying them... too many people out there just go to "abc" tire shop and have the place sell them overpriced expensive crappy tires...

Ive had that problem with nearly all the vehicles ive purchased - either they come with garbage tires from the factory, or the person buys garbage the second time around.

Check out some online tire reviews and im sure youll find a good tire to your liking

Couldnt agree more. I have been into aftermarket wheels and tires for a long long time. Drives me crazy when people blindly go to the first place they see for new tires and buy whatever they have or recommend. Its like they are out of milk and need to get another gallon of whatever the local store sells.... Some people think they have to go to the dealer to get the "same tires" that came on their vehicle. OUCH. I cant say I have ever bought the original size or original tire on any vehicle I have ever owned. I will say I did read decent reviews on the Kuhmo Escta STX before I bought them but they turned out to be Korean made crap. Tires are pretty subjective as well. Continental may make a tire that is decent, I will never buy any though after dealing with their non existent customer support. Im on a tangent here...... Im pretty passionate about wheels and tires. Had 4 different sets for my Ex at one time. Maybe obsessed more than passionate.....

get the LTX A/T2 instead of the M/S or M/S2. it's still a great all-weather highway tire, but even better off road.
