2003 Infiniti I35- tail lights glow ONLY when brake pedal is pressed

Hey Guys,

Recently I bought a used 2003 Infiniti I35 from a dealer. I am quite satisfied with the car. My only concern is at night when I switch on the lights the taillights never turn on. In rear side of the car there are eight lamps, 2 for left/right indicators (work fine) , 2 for back-up(work fine) and other 4 lamps glow only when brake pedal is pressed.

Is it common in I35 that all 4 lamps will be on ONLY when brake pedal is pressed? I tried all the three switch positions but none of them switch on the taillights. Please help.

Hey, Welcome to Nico. I sounds to me like you might have a bad relay/ switch. I am not sure where they are located on the G35's, since I have never worked on one. Try finding the location of it from a FSM and you should be able to check it with a multimeter. I hope this helps you. From the sounds of it, it should not be that hard of a fix.
