Hi everyone,
I have a 2003 Infiniti i35 and love it. Recently started idling rough, SES popped up. I pulled the codes and it showed Camshaft sensors. I replaced both A and B sensors, then cleared codes. Idle was a little better, but SES popped up again and code showed misfire on cyl 1 and CrankShaft Position Sensor.

I cannot seem to find the CKP sensor anywhere. Some videos on the internet show it near the oil filter, but I have nothing there. I've checked the FSM but did not see any detailed diagram of where exactly the thing is.

I'm stumped.

Does anyone have a pic, video, or detail explanation of where this thing could be?

thanks,

So I found the location, but there is something very strange.
Here are a some pics of the hole, there is some type of grommet on the right side of the sensor, that doesn't exactly fit the hole. When I install the new sensor, the o-ring is exposed.

any thoughts?

That second pic is not where the cam sensor goes is it?

Yes, that's the crankshaft sensor.

I changed the sensors, it still pulled codes for a misfire on cylinder 1 and the camshaft/crankshaft sensor (check other codes first).
So I decided to see if I had the oil in the spark plug tube many people have reported, and all three cylinders (1,3,5) had oil in them.

I decided to change the gaskets, replace the plugs and the coil packs, as well as the upper intake manifold plenum.

Started it up. No luck. Still running with a real hard idle and SES blinking for a misfire.

I'm wondering if the camshaft sensor connector is broken, bank B does not snap when put on.

Any Ideas? I'm pretty much stumped other than it being a wiring issue.

Pulled codes again, got the MAF and the TPS Sensor 1 & 2 along with multiple misfires.
Wondering if I need to change those out or if there is another way?
