I know this is a repost from the g35 section..but I figured this would be a better place for it, delete the other if you need to.
just a couple questions.
say your cruising, then you Floor the throttle. How long does it take for your car to downshift and accelerate? at first this car took almost 2-3 seconds before it would downshift and take off. I took out 1 spark plug to look at the condition and put it back, and it magically dropped to about 1 second. Still slightly long IMO. My dad's 2006 Dodge 1500 downshifts faster than this thing...not sayin it can keep up with it...but you know what I'm sayin...
the steering is incredibly ruff. it's almost as bad as no power steering. but it's worse turning one way than the other. Checked Power Steering fluid, and it's fine?
I checked all fluids and whatnot, all checked out just fine.
list so far.
1. ECU reset. *recommended by RED_DET*
2. Spark plugs.
3. new air filter.
4. Possibly transmission fluid change, was low when she was here a few weeks ago, at least adding some. depends on how much money she has when she gets here.
5. Possibly run some sea foam through it if y'all would recommend that?
6. try and dog it alittle to possibly get rid of some built up carbon and whatnot. *as if she doesn't dog it enough*
7. Possible grounding kit.
8. general cleanup of the engine bay and clean out the intake a little.
the owners husband has neglected this car horribly. She loves this car and want's it to be like new again. but I can't figure out the causes. she will be back in florida from georgia next month. I will do as much maintenance to the car as her money allows. this car still go's very well. I test drove it for her, and when it does decide to downshift it squats and hops and takes off very well. no shaking under hard braking. again, Thank you very much. I'm only 15, I'm no mechanic not saying I don't know a thing or two, but always helps to have a more knowledgeable person give input. if you need any more info just ask...She lives in a very rural part of georgia and the car doesn't get driven but maybe once a month. and moved across the 8acre property a couple times in between driving to say walmart.
Thank you all in advance.
