The G35 is badass, and as stated before is rear wheel drive. There are a lot more aftermarket parts for them.
Even though they have the same engine, the G is faster, because it has a transmission, and not a transaxle.
The G is a lot smaller, and lighter. The G is a 350z with a backseat and better interior. It is a really sporty car.
Needless to say, I like having the G, much more than I liked my Maxima.
See, and that's what I mean by "it's all down to what you want out of the car."
I've driven both (drove Greg's G on the most amazing track in North America) and I'd STILL rather have an I35.For some of us, being a "really sporty car" isn't enough on it's own.Real back seat > G35 back seatHeadroom > G35 (even without a helmet on, my head brushes the ceiling in the G)Smaller and lighter is only better at the track, and even then only if it's your preference.I also think that the Maxima/I35 interior is a lot nicer than that of the V35 G.
So it isn't just down to "G is sportier so it wins." There's a lot more to consider, and if you're not only looking for a RWD sporty car, the I35 honestly does give the G35 a SERIOUS run for it's money.
