Hello , MY I-35 2003 recently hit over 101,000 miles. I brought the car new and really havent had much maintence on the car. I changed the spark plugs at 80kmiles. I also had the power steering line changed. it was leaking pretty bad. other than the usual engine oil changes and transmission oil change. Tonight after coming home from a super bowl party . YES NY WON! the service engine soon light came on! Im thinking of doing this myself rather than go to Infinity and have the service deparment take my money. Im thinking it s a 02 sensor . should I do it myself or just pay the man? any advice would be good. My wife normally drives the car but come this Sept. I will rollin it. any recommendations out there? Im currently driving a VW 1960 double cab bus. I know I know but this will be my next driving car and I will be tinkering with it.
First, welcome to NICO. Second, have you had a mechanic scan it for you? If not, you need to do this so you can make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Another thing you can do is take ur car to an Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone where they can do a free diagnosis check...then if it is something small like an O2 sensor you can replace it urself or take it to a local shop and get it changed....that would save you some money! Let me kno how everything works out....

Definately don't just start replacing sensors. Go to an Autozone and use their scanner. If it's something weird you've never heard of before you can ask the person at the counter or come back here and let us know.
