Hello.

I have 2003 G35 Sedan Auto transmission. Every morning I start the car and drive out and gridding noise comes from when 1st gear changing 2nd gear. Does anyone has this problem? I need to know what I need to do with the transmission. Do I need to take my car to repair shop? Please help...

Make sure you're not hearing the anti-lock brake test. I'd take it to a dealer, and have a tech ride in the car with you for an expert opinion.

My 2005 does it too.

The brand new 2006 loaner I got one time from the dealer did it too.

My friend's G35 did it.

I take it to be normal operation.

Hi guys,

David and james, my 2003 just started doing that this morning had the car for about a week now, very weird. It seems to do it when your travelling very slow under 6mph in the morning when first started 1st to second gear, can hear the noise coming from driver side sort of maybe its just my hearing?? James you mentioned that it could be normal??

Infiniti tech do you think its the ABS initialising???

Cheers

The funny thing is it happened initially, then i slowed down to a full stop to see if it would happen again and it didn't happen after that??

Do you guys think if it was gear box it would happen consistently?

And by gathering that james 05, 06 did it even the one he borrowed seems to have done it??

There are a few threads on this as this is a common question. Dealers across the country should do the same that my dealer did--the guy explained to me everything about the car before I drove off, including this noise so I wouldn't be running back to the dealer. Its in your owner's manual, too.

only does when the car was park for more than 1hour. I need to know if my car is low on gear box oil?

I had a grinding issue going from 6th back to 5th when driving in the city around 42-44 MPH.

The synchros were out and there were shards of metal in the tranny. They replaced it under warranty.
