PLEASE HELP! g35 has been tops till this.Car only has 78000 kms but was parked for about a year and a half and the battery went dead. One day I was gonna go and get a new one installed so I hooked up a booster and she fired up so I just got out of the garage and my buddy shows up and accidentaly turned her off. At that point not even the booster cranked her so I jumped it with my pickup truck, got her on the street and when I tried to accelerate she did not go anywhere until I turned off the heater and navi and she got enough power to get going. After new battery the problem is the navigation does not come on at all, the dvd unit seems to not even power on. Tried to eject disc and even thought the disc was missing so I tried to feed a disc but to no avail. Checked fuses and they all seem to be ok,hoping the units not fried but what can it be? Any other fuses hiding behind the unt?Would a scan tell me something? Thanks for any help!Greg

It's possible that there's a fuse back there, but I doubt it... hopefully someone more knowledgable about the '03 G will come along shortly to answer. Unfortunately, if I were taking bets, I would guess that you fried it...

If you don't have your factory service manual (a/k/a "FSM") you might want to download it and see if that helps. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35

Welcome to NICO!

Welcome to Nico!

Something happened, somewhere along the way to cause the circuit to fail. Where there any issues with the car before it was stored? In most cases either a cable was hooked up backwards while jumping the car, causing one of the main fuses to blow. I would start with checking the large fuses near the battery.

Good Luck, getting this professionally evaluated may be the best way to go.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, problem solved, and i think the techs might want to keep this info 4 anyone with the same situation. If u own a g35 and the display doesn't work nor does the dvd player seem to turn on you should take out the player, heat it up with a hair dryer(for a few seconds so that the unit is warm)then plug it back in to see results. The problem with the units are electrolytic capacitors in the player which u will need to get replaced by a guy that knows what he's doing. Also this problem should only start with sub zero temps. Thanks to all 4 the helpGreg
