2003 G35 Navi/DVD

i wanted to know if there was a way i could play dvd's on my navigation system. there is the navigation dvd box in the glove compartment and i put a dvd in there but it wont play on the screen. it is dvd-rom so it should be able to read it. let me know if you guys know anything or have any ideas. thanks

DVD-Rom in that of itself does not mean it can play DVD movies. The Nissan/Infiniti Nav systems can only read Nav software. To play DVD video on the nav screen, you need an interface like the ones from http://www.aveletronic.com or http://www.tvandnav2go.com. this will allow external video to play on the screen, then it's a matter of choosing your source (such as a DVD player).
