Hello,

I'm new here, so please take it easy on me.

Today, I purchased my first vehicle (w/o parent's help). I went to the dealership and test drove a 2003 G35 Sedan (only 36,000 miles, clean CarFax report, etc etc...). Anyways, when I first turned on the car, I heard a clicking sound coming from the CD player, but it went away in less than 10 seconds. I asked the salesperson about it and he said the CD changer must be cycling, looking for a CD to play. Foolishly, I believed him. I bought the car since everything else was perfect, and drove to school, and then back home using the FM radio.

When I got home, I decided to try out the CD player. To my suprise, it reads "CD ERR FO" (This was before I put any CDs in). I've come to realize that it's jammed. This is what has me worried...The 4 year warranty on the vehicle expired 7/11/2007, and the car was used and sold by the dealership 'as is.'

I plan on calling the dealership tomorrow to inquire about the problem. I just find it unfair that I was led to believe one thing, and yet things ended up differently.

Is there anything I could do to fix this problem myself? Any information/suggestions regarding the matter are highly appreciated.

Thank you.

-Edward

Thanks.

I'm going to call the dealership today when they open. Hopefully they'll help me, especially since I was given false information. When I checked out the car, there was about 70% tread on the tires, and it was due for an oil change in about 1500 miles. The salesperson had them put on 4 new tires and change the oil without me asking them to. I can only hope that they'll be just as helpful with the CD changer unit.

Thanks!

I talked to the salesperson that sold the car to me. He said that he can have it fixed and that I should call him back later in the day. When I called him, he told me that he spoke with the service and parts department and they didn't have the CD changer in stock. So, they ordered one for me and I should be getting it installed next week free of charge.

Now I can have some kind of peace of mind. I'll just have to wait until next week to see how it all turns out. Hopefully good!
