2003 G35 Bose Audio Parasitic Drain

I have a 2003 G35 Sedan with a Bose audio system.

Problem: The parasitic drain on the battery when the ignition is off is 0.53 Amps

I have isolated the problem to the Bose audio unit's backup power line via the 15A [37] fuse in the fusible link block

The car should have a parasitic drain of only 0.07 Amps

Other than the high drain, the Bose system and everything else works as intended.

Im at a loss, anyone have any ideas?

Thank You All,

Sam.

Wow, that's a lot of drain. How much does it draw at low volume when it's powered on normally? I suspect about the same.It should only have miniscule current to keep the memory presets alive with ignition off.

Did you isolate the amp in the trunk from the dash unit also?

The Bose audio unit creates a load of about 1.25 amps when loading or unloading a CD. This also includes the powering of the Bose Amp.I have isolated the problem to the audio unit. The amp is fine.

ThanksSam.
