Hey guys, I know this has been talked about many times, but I am wondering whether I should just replace my OEM clutch (168,000 w/original) or just find a used CD009 6MT from a junk yard for cheap from a G with low mileage? My transmission has been acting up the past few months---- the normal "squeek from the fork" and it doesn't go into 5th gear sometimes and grinds--- just contemplating whether it would be more worth while to just put in the newer/less problematic transmission. Any feedback/thoughts? The clutch isn't slipping, yet, but I know it's going to have to be done pretty soon. :gotme

That is a lot miles, but you may get away with just a new clutch. The grinding is most likely a syncro issue. Have you tried to change the clutch fluid yet?

If the clutch is simply having engage/disengage problems due to need of replacement then just replacing the clutch would be the direction. If you ARE having syncro issues in the transmission then I'd think of replacing the whole thing. Try and figure out which issue you are having so you don't waste money on unnecessary repairs.
