2003 g 35 coupe trunk won't open

i've tried therelease under the dash and my key fob both and neither will open the trunk. anyone had this problem before?

Assuming the valet switch in the glove box isn't disabling it, sounds like a bad actuator or bad trunk wiring. Some models like older Maximas have a tendency to break wires in the flex coupling as they age. I don't know if the G35 is one of those, but I wouldn't assume the actuator is bad until you check power and ground to it.

i can't get into the trunk to check wirings. There must be some emergency way to access the trunk.

If the back seats don't fold down and there's no key cylinder, you might need to yank the rear seat. There should be an emergency release on the lid once you get in there.
