Hello friends,

Ok, So the Bose CD player does not work anymore....I am not too worried about it. I tried to hook up my MP3 player through a cassett and guess what... the System does not let me get into Tape mode. So all i have is the Am/FM. So i went to walmart and got a FM transmitter for 19.99$ and guess what...there is way too much static.

I tried different places to get an estimate.

George-A member on this forum offered to fix it for 225$Someone on e-bay with 100% positive feedback charges 175$The infiniti dealer said that they will simply swap this system with a refurbished one and the total charge will be 400$ + taxThe local radio shop got the Cd player out and they gave me exactly the same quote...400$+tax.

Now my first question is --why am i not able to play the tape? The CD got stuck when it was being ejected. I have used the Tape before and it works gr88..now i am unable to switch to tape mode.

Is there a better FM transmitter available that will give me better sound quality without static?

If nothing works, i have no option but to spend 400$..I am trying all other options. I have barely owned this car for 45 days and the Cd player broke 2 weeks ago.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey V,

Actually it is weird for both your CD and your tape deck to fail at the same time, but it does happen. Some times fried switches are involve.

I charge $225 with year warranty, and Mr. ebay charges $175 with 3 month warranty=)

The dealer said $400 for the exchange, but make sure that includes the labor of doing it also. Good luck to you

George

If you just want to use your MP3 player you can get an fm transmitter that works through the cigarrete lighter. You just plug it into there instead of the tape kind. Also make sure to read the instructions. This might sound dumb but with mine if you have to have the MP3 player volume at about 75% and then you can adjust it off of the deck itself. If it is not at 75% on the MP3 player it will be very staticy(or however you spell that). The MP3 jack cost me about $50.00. Good Luck
