The AC quit after I replaced the cracked exhaust manifold on the RH side of the engine. My problem might not be related to that but I thought I would mention it. The compressor works fine.. engages and disengages when the AC is turned on but neither of the lines get cold. Inside the car it just blows warm air. Any ideas?

Sounds like theres a leak. Take it in and have them vaccum test the system.

Check your high pressure Compressor to Condensor A/C hose for any leaks. This hose is located on the driver's side of the vehicle, hooks up to the compressor and the condensor. These ALWAYS leak and we see 5+ of this specifc hose leaking on most VG (V6) Frontiers.

If there is a "greasy film" on the hose, then more than likely that is the leak.

I think you're being a bit overdramatic there guy. They don't ALWAYS leak. As a matter of fact, I haven't run into one that's leaking yet. So I think you stating they always leak, is a slight overstatement.

Hence why I said to "Check" the hose for any obvious leaks, not meaning "That hose is leaking. I am not "being overdramatic" when I say that we see about 5 of these a week, the truth is there. Our parts deparment usually carries over 12+ of the hoses in stock every day for this very reason. I am just giving him something to go on for self-diagnosis help, something to look for that the usual D-I-Yer may not know about.

Also, on a side note, I am not under-slaying you nor am I "biting back" at you, just giving you my opinion on what I have seen at my dealership based on personal experience here in the Atlanta area......

I understand that what you're stating is based on experience and that's fine. But if you re-read what you wrote, you'll understand what I'm talking about. You made a statement referring to the fact that on every VG33 you have ever seen, you have found that specific A/C hose to be leaking. I was just referring to the simple fact that this was near impossible as you have'nt worked on every single VG33 Nissan has produced so you can't state, in a matter of fact type of way, that they ALWAYS leak.

LOL NSR A32. You are taking this out of context from what I really meant to say. But you are right, nonetheless, as I did come across as, "THAT HOSE IS YOUR PROBLEM." Let me re-phrase my original statement.

Quote »Check your high pressure Compressor to Condensor A/C hose for any leaks. This hose is located on the driver's side of the vehicle, hooks up to the compressor and the condensor. Usually, when we have a VG30/33 equipped vehicle that comes in with a "Warm air blows when A/C is applied," the problem usually tends to be this hose leaking refrigerant. But this may not be your specific case, but it could be.

Also, check your other A/C hoses for leaks as well. If there is a "greasy film" on the hose, especially around the "crimp fittings" where the rubber hoses meet the metal connector, then that can be a possible A/C refrigerant leak. But the best way to be sure would be to take the vehicle into a licensed A/C repair shop or dealership and let them diagnose and fix the problem.[/quote]

I should have mentioned that the system does have a full charge and does not leak.
