We have a 2003 altima and it wont start. Checked the codes and nothing. I have spark and fuel. It will turn over and try to start but wont. I replaced the crank sensor and the fuel pump and nothing. Any thing you guys can come up with would help me.. Or does anybody in north Ga. know a good mec. in the Gainseville area.. Thanks for the help

Took the car to a mec. and they ran a few test on the car and said that the eng. was flooded.. The mec. said that nissan has a cold start problem. The puter says that it cold and starts dumping fuel in the cylinders and doesnt stop until it starts. Sounds funny to me but they got the car started and are driving it as I type this..

the problem with posts like this is there can be many problems wrong with the car and often there is not enough info. I try to help when i can (just saw this). i don't know why the car dumps gas in the cyl like that (see if ur mechanic can do an injector balance test). I't cold up here upstate NY and I haven't had problems

Ok guys hope you can help me... I purchased a 2003 Altima with a bad engine, so I bought one from the salvage yard with 60,000 miles replaced it. Car started ran for about 30-45 minutes everythings fine only thing wrong was that the check engine light was on. Came the next day plug the scanner and it read that the crank sensor is bad so I cleared the code try to start it and it took a while to start. What can cause the car to do that. My friend said that I had to change the flywheel cause the old flywheel had more holes than the new one and thats how the crank sensor reads it or something like that... Thanks Oneeye

I'm assuming from your post that you replaced the engine yourself.
Congratulations
I would pay a visit to the local Nissan dealer and seek out the service manager. Perhaps paying for one hour of diagnostic time would solve the problem for you.

Just my $.02

Good luck
