My warranty expires in 4 months and 5th gear is grinding. I've done all my own service since buying the car new. I have all my own records with dates and mileage etc. I'm expecting the dealer to say yes we'll warranty it but I'll have to pay for a new clutch. However, noone at the dealer seems to know anything about weak transmissions in the 350z, so I dont know how to convince them or tell them to order the new upgraded transmission instead of an old remanufactured transmission. ALSO, if they did order an upgraded transmission, would that mean it comes with a new clutch or possibly they would warranty a new clutch because my old style clutch won't fit?
This dealer seems to have no answers at all for all these questions. I also called 1800 nissan and got absolutely no answers from them either. So does anyone know who I can ask for at 1800 nissan that is familiar with the 350z problems? They won't get me in touch with a regional officer until the dealer has seen the car- and provided that I have a problem with the dealership. So basically nobody at nissan is telling me anything at all.
I just want to make sure that I get the upgraded transmission, and I don't mind having to pay for my own clutch.
Thanks
JOE
